George Gunther

MACP, CCC

Hello! I’m George, a counsellor dedicated to supporting individuals and couples through life’s challenges with warmth, empathy, and practical tools for change.

I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and an Bachelor of Arts from York University. I bring a warm, respectful approach to therapy, and I genuinely care about getting to know each person’s story, strengths, and what matters most to them.

Before becoming a counsellor, I worked as a personal trainer, where I gained a deep appreciation for the mind-body connection, the power of motivation, and the value of setting meaningful goals. That work taught me how to support people through real, lasting change—skills that continue to shape my approach to therapy. Years ago, I went through a traumatic experience that set me on my own healing journey, and it’s what ultimately inspired me to help others find their own paths to growth and recovery.

In my practice, I’ve worked with a diverse range of clients facing a wide variety of concerns, including trauma, sexual abuse, substance use, breakups, family and relationship challenges, personality differences, and life transitions. I’m committed to providing a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered. My approach to counselling is holistic and adaptable. Together, we collaborate on setting meaningful goals that align with what you need most.

I truly enjoy helping people, and I’m committed to continually learning and growing as a person and in my practice. I take part in ongoing professional development so I can better support you wherever you are on your journey.

Congratulations on reaching out, you’ve made the first step.
